Happy happy 5th birthday Afsana!  You are truly a joy.  You are a very passionate young girl.  You love people fiercely.  Krishna Nanaji died this year and you felt the sadness, you comforted Kunkum Naniji, you took interest in all the funeral proceedings, and you missed and talked about Nansji afterwards.

You also had a new little sister born this year, miss Isha.  Afsana you are such a great big sister.  You have been a tremendous help...you have held Isha for up to 2 hours, you sing her to sleep and most of all you make her smile and laugh!  You and Kiran also play together really well...you are very kind to her.  You even shared your birthday balloons and cupcake with her.

You are great at art...I'm always surprised at your intricate and meaningful creations.  You learned to write in cursive at school and your hand-writing is beautiful!   You love to help cook...especially Indian food!

You are riding a bicycle (2 wheels) and you love it!  You rocked it the first day we got you the bike.  You also spend as much time as possible in the pool...you are learning to swim.  You had a super fun pool party this year with samosas and chocolate cake.

You learned to sing "kidney banaya Isha ko."

Since you are passionate you also have intense anger at times.  We are praying and teaching you to pray about this and how it is sin.  We pray the Lird continues to soften your heart Afsana and you serve Him with all your heart.

I love you so very much and am honored to be you Mummy.

Today Afsana told me that Jesus had given Vandana Nani joy and now He is giving her joy!  And that she would love her cooking in heaven.

Dear Kiran,

Happy 2nd Birthday!  You have truly lived up to your name and are a ray of sunshine.  You are also so very loving...always going cuddles, hugs, and kisses.  You ask us if we are ok and if Didi is crying you care for her.  You are super smart.  You started speaking in sentences around 21 months.  You didn't say much before 18 months but when you started taking one of your words was"sunshine."
You are good with your hands...you love playdoh and Legos and you even copy Didi on the piano.  You understand a lot of Hindi and live Hindi music...dancing to it.  Your favorite songs are Chanda mama and Jesus loves me.

Love you so much and pray that above all you will love your Jesus with all your heart, soul, and mind!  Many Blessings,

Dear Sanu,

I wrote you a letter for your first birthday in your Curious George book...will have to find that.  You are extraordinary!  You started piano lessons a few months ago and are so engaged...you play Mississippi hot dog, ice cream cone, and jump lamby jump.  Your best friend at school is Aubrey...you girls give the best hugs to each other.  You live school and tell me you like to do "challenging work."  You are too smart for me :). You are a big help...you help empty the dishwasher, vacuum the floor, feed raja, get dressed/brush teeth and hair (since you were 2), and help me even in food prep.
You went skiing this year for the first time and were a rock star!!! You loved it so much.  You are very adventurous and brave.  You are also strong and stubborn!! Stay that way!  But channel all that for the Lord.
We are expecting baby "Sia" in March...you gave her that name...you talk to her daily and hug and kiss her and even make sure I don't have bend down too much so I don't squish her...hehehe :)
