Happy TENTH Isha!

Dearest Isha,

Happiest TENTH birthday!! What a year it has been! I am so proud of who you are becoming. Recently you learned a Bollywood dance on your own and performed it so beautifully, everybody was so impressed and so proud. You are so emotionally intelligent and write some of the most beautiful letters to me. I even like the Judy with the big booty letter. You are an amazing sister and especially big sister. You make up some of the coolest games and have so much energy and fun ideas to do. You are the Neighborhood sister, all the little kids love playing with you. You are so intelligent and you are also wise. We have learned that you also have some good discernment like when we were on the pedal boat  :). I have loved hearing what you are praying for and what you’re learning in your time with Jesus, you have shared with me Psalms 1 and it was so beautiful what God put on your heart about it. My prayer is that you will continue to pursue Jesus with all your heart, and that He will be the nearest and dearest to you Isha.

Happy 12th Kiran!

 

Dearest Beti Kiran,

Happiest 12th birthday! Wow, what a year you have had Kiran! I am so proud of all the ways you have grown, all the challenging things you have tried, and all the things you have accomplished. You have continued in your dance and you have done so so well. You have tried ice-skating even though it’s hard and you have done well. You have picked back up piano and violin. You are doing so well in school and made the coolest cereal box book project for Michelle Obama‘s book Becoming. You are such a joy to be around. You are an awesome friend, great sister and cousin sister, trustworthy babysitter, an active caring person in our community, and a lovely daughter.  You are full of kindness, grace, you are a strong advocate, and truth teller, you feel deeply for those around you and yourself, you are hard-working and always ready to help, you always are up for a fun question game or board game or a walk, and I just love your radiant smile and warm hugs.

I am praying that this next year is a year full of continued joy, growing in Jesus and knowing what it means to walk in His ways.  I hope you feel the love of Jesus deeply and know that you are His child and that he loves so much and he cherishes you.

Happy 14th birthday Afsana!

Dearest Afsana 

happy 14th birthday! I am truly so proud of who God has made you and how wonderfully you have grown and matured. I can’t believe you have your own phone!  Seriously though, the way you have gone through middle school the last two years with so much wisdom and discernment is amazing. You have grown into a beautiful, talented, intelligent, faithful young lady. You were confirmed and baptized this last spring, which I praise God for!

You are a loving and fun sister, you even want to have your room with your siblings which touches my heart so deeply. You’re such a kind, loving and caring daughter. We’re always trying to see what you can do to brighten my day with either a cup of chai or a little conversation or a snack in bed. You are also such a thoughtful friend and you truly do have the gift of hospitality Afsana.

I am so excited for the next chapter in your life with high school starting and going to east for the IB program. I know you will thrive. Keep looking to Jesus and keep trusting him for everything. He is your stronghold, your rock, your comfort, your peace and He loves you the most of all. Keep learning about His love and character.  He is our greatest treasure in life.

Happy 7th birthday B!

 Dearest Benaiah,

Happy 7th Birthday!

You love telling jokes, playing pranks, listening to music, and busting out dance moves.  Most days i can find you listening to music playing outside and sneaking to our neighbor Mike’s house for some Fat Boy ice creams. This year you played flag football, started baseball, learned to make an awesome cup of coffee, continued to roll out roti with me, and learned to sew on the sewing machine!  Youmade eye cozies (eye bean bags eyes you can warm up) for all your favorites this winter.

You bring us so much joy and we are lucky to have you as our son!

I pray you know God big, wide, deep and never ending love.

Happy 9th birthday Isha!

Dearest Isha,

Happiest ninth birthday! Isha, you have had such an amazing year. I am so proud of you for trying new things such as volleyball.

I have called you Shanti (peace) since you were a baby. This year I realized that you are not the typical quiet picture of peace we think of but you are the beautiful peace that comes from a strong loud voice, a fierce love, a protective spirit, and a passion to fight for what you believe in.  You have a bright big smile and are full of joy.  You love to play teacher and are quite good at it especially with your most loyal pupil Benaiah lol.  This year for your God connection time you have started reading a few verses of the Bible and then journaling about what they mean to you and God is speaking to you about. Then you have read these journal entries to me and I have been so surprised and amazed at what God has been saying. They are like mini sermons to my spirit. I love seeing God working in you. 

One of my favorite memories with you is making Tiramisu.  

Your birthday party this year was so sweet!  You had ice cream cupcakes and had the sweetest friends over.

You are kind, a loving daughter and sister, a great friend, and a dear child of God.  I am beyond thankful God chose you for our family!!!!

I pray God continues to cultivate peace in you.

Happy 11th birthday Kiru!

 

My Dearest Kiran, 

Happiest 11th birthday! You are an amazing young lady! You bring so much joy. You are truly a ray of sunshine. Kiru you are love in every way…with your warm hugs, kind words, your affectionate gaze, and your care for those around you. You have done some really cool things this year like playing soccer, going to a currents game with Thiane, your first Chiefs game and playoff game, skiing at Snow Creek, going with me on a girls trip to Austin, Guatemala, hiking a volcano!, starting acrobat and finding a love for dance again at the Indian wedding this summer. I’m so proud of how you jumped into so many adventures while you were 10! 

I pray that this year will be full of more adventures and that you will be brave and strong to try new things and will find abundant joy in what God has for you, where He has you, and with the people around you.

Continue talking to Jesus and filling your heart with His endless beautiful love,

Happy 13th Afsana!!!

 Dearest Afsana,

Happiest 13th birthday! I can’t believe 13 years ago you made me a mom. You are growing and becoming such a lovely young lady. You are intelligent, beautiful, hard-working, thoughtful, a good daughter and a good sister and a good friend. I have been so impressed by so many things in the last year. The way you have had Nanny jobs and have gotten great reviews from the people you worked with. I’ve also been impressed how easy school comes to you, but how hard you work at it to do your best. I loved that you tried wrestling this year as a new sport, even though you were just one a few girls on the team, you played hard, you learned the sport, and you even enjoyed it. I also love how you are so thoughtful of the people around you and the people that bless you, such as how you blessed your Seek teacher, Mrs. Freeman with that going away party. You planned out the details so well. You make people feel so appreciated. I know you do that for me, especially when you thoughtfully make me chai. Even your art of chai making it so perfected that I am intimidated to make chai because I know I can’t do it as well as you do lol.  I love your creativity, I love how you are so unique with your fashion, I love that you figure things out, and you are so confident in who God has made you. You encourage me to be confident in who I am, by the way you journey through life and, see God‘s blessings and beauty around you. You have such a good head on your shoulders, I love how generous and kind and loving you are to yourself and to those around you. I pray that you will feel God’s love deeply this year and that God will grow you in wisdom and discernment. These are my prayers, especially as you begin your teen years. There is gonna be so many decisions, risks that you might want to take, and adventures. I pray that you enjoy these adventurous fun years of your life. These are the years that your brain is blossoming, and then pruning to become who you want to become in your adult life. Enjoy every experience, go on every journey, see the beauty, and make sure you take your community and your friends and family with you!
